Catalytic reforming is used to raise the octane levels of gasoline to meet product specifications. Because of the highly acidic nature of the process, Quartz Crystal Microbalance Technology is recommended for measurements in the gaseous phase – such as monitoring the H2 re-cycle return into the Platforming process from the molecular sieve drier.

The QMA601 Process Moisture Analyzer has an asymmetric cycle option to prolong the sensor life in these harsh conditions. Together with a sample system option which includes a valve for isolation of sample to the sensor whilst allowing a filter drain/by-pass flow to continue to purge through the sample line, this ensure the QCM Moisture sensor is protected from the highly acidic conditions.
