PST/Rotronic UK

ISO 17025 accredited calibration of humidity and temperature sensors validates performance and is increasingly a requirement of industry regulations and corporate quality management systems. Rotronic UKAS laboratory has continued to develop over recent years, increasing confidence in the calibrations performed and consequently improving the measurement uncertainty in the laboratory's Calibration and Measurement Capability (CMC). The measurement methods for dew point and temperature in air have been significantly improved, which in turn has affected the relative humidity (rh) calibrations.

  • Calibration of relative humidity measuring instruments using unsaturated salt solutions at 5 %rh, 10 %rh, 11 %rh, 20 %rh, 35 %rh, 50 %rh, 65 %rh, 75 %rh, 80 %rh & 95 %rh over a range 23 °C ±2 °C
  • Calibration of dew point measuring instruments over the range -60 °C dew point to +95 °C dew point
  • Calibration of relative humidity measuring instruments by comparison with a chilled mirror hygrometer and platinum resistance thermometers in the range 0 °C to 95 °C; 2 %rh to 98 %rh

PST/Rotronic US

Rotronic’s Calibration laboratory in Hauppauge, New York is Accredited by A2LA to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 standards for the Calibration of humidity and temperature.
Located in a separate, climate-controlled area, the environment inside of the Calibration laboratory is constantly monitored and maintained. Throughout the Calibration process Rotronic’s proprietary software and algorithms ensure stable and reliable Calibrations.

  • Calibration of relative humidity measuring instruments over the range 0.1 %rh to 81 %rh at nominally 23 °C
  • Calibration of relative humidity in HygroGen from 4.5 %rh to 96 %rh
  • Calibration of temperature probes in air from 9 °C to +46 °C

Which Calibration Do I Need?
Factory Adjustment Certificate (ISO) OR SCS/UKAS Certificate?

SCS, UKAS, NIST Calibrations

Your internal quality process requirements generally determine whether a factory calibration certificate suffices or whether a calibration according to ISO 17025 (SCS/UKAS/NIST) is needed. ISO 17025 calibrations are generally required in the pharmaceutical industry, the medical technology industry, research and development and the food industry. ISO 17025 calibrations are performed with high precision reference hygrometers and for temperature calibration, an equally high precision temperature bath is used. The best possible ISO 17025 calibration accuracy can only be achieved if all process parameters are controlled and checked at the highest level – SCS calibration is therefore only possible in our accredited laboratory (SCS 0065).

Factory Calibrations as per ISO 9001 Standard

A standard traceable calibration can be carried out by you or by our calibration technicians. The following calibration methods are suitable for this:

  • HygroGen2 (humidity and temperature generator – Standard and XL models from 0 °C to 60 °C and 5 %rh to 95 %rh as standard; option of -5 °C to 60 °C and 2 %rh to 99 %rh)
  • Rotronic humidity standards (calibration solutions from 0.5 %rh to 95 %rh in packs of five ampoules and textile pads with SCS certificate)
  • Rotronic HygroCal100 Advanced (provides a stable test chamber to quickly evaluate the performance of relative humidity sensors across a wide range of 5 to 95% relative humidity)
